we are the great disappointment
The Great Disappointment began in late 2024, as an outlet for Patton’s songwriting. With the realization of our current lineup in 2026 we committed to our new goal of being the funnest, most irreverent, and least predictable jamgrass band in California. Most of our music is original, but it’s all firmly rooted in the American songbook.
Every Great Disappointment show is unique - we don’t repeat setlists, we switch up our jams, and the bad jokes NEVER stop. Our original songs draw from the string-band drive of bluegrass, the heady groove of old time, and the swing-and-snap of country blues. We round out our sets with fiddle tunes and traditionals played in our own style.
